Germany / The Netherlands | I previously owned 2600SZ--037. I believe it was sold new in Padua and I bought it from another American at Vicenza late in 1971. It went with me to Germany and Holland and I sold it there to Ron Worthington in 1973 as I had just bought 1300JZ--254. Ron repainted it from white to red and took it to the USA and later sold it. The car was brought to a complete stop one day in Luxembourg by a folding chair of all things. The chair had an aluminium frame and it was in the trunk/boot of the car. Somehow it moved around and managed to touch both battery posts at the same time and created a short circuit! Either Alfa never provided a plastic cover to prevent this or the one for my car got lost before I bought it. The 2600 SZ was EW 1127 in the American Forces system and I do not think I ever registered it in Holland as I soon sold it after getting the 1300 JZ. |
