I bought 1300JZ--254 in Valenzano, Italy (near Bari) in the summer of 1973 after seeing it advertized in an American car magazine.
I kept in in Holland and Germany until 1976 and it went to the Alfa dealer (Horst Tschann) in Zwiebrücken.
Ron and I put a 1750 injection engine in it as I wanted to take it to the USA later onbut this never came about.
This was the only engine of it's type in Holland at the time and it came from a US version Alfa that had been wrecked there.
I bought the engine  from Alfa Workshop in Den Haag and I understand they still exist.
Later on I had the main Alfa dealer in Brescia, Italy change the fifth gear from 0.84 to 0.79 (or maybe he changed the whole transmission to do this) because the gearing from the original 1300 gearbox was too short.
I also changed the 41/9 (4.56) final drive tio 41/10 (4.10) to take advantage for the 1750's power.
This turned out to be a small mistake as the gearing was a little too long and 43/10 ( 4.30) would have been a better choice.

My 1300 JZ carried the number plate 83 GN 50 while I was in Den Haag.
Before that it was BA 274705 when I bought it near Bari, Italy.
In Germany, after I was transferred from Holland, it became KA 6820.
That's an American Forces number, not a German registration.
