Tracing the history of your car. |
Trying to trace the history of your car is often half the fun of owning it according to some owners. |
- When was it built; |
- When, to whom and where was it sold first; |
- What was the original body and upholstery color
These are all questions that most of us would like to answer but this answer is often hard to find since most former owners are a "dead-end street" when it comes to trying to retrieve such information from them.
Luckily, we own cars made by a manufacturer that cares and who is willing to supply such information, provided it is available from the archives. This service is basically a one-man-band operation or better still, a one-woman-band: Mrs. Elviera Ruocco at the Centro Documentazione Storica in Arese has been running this center for many years and has done a more than splendid job in archiving all Alfa Romeo information.
Mrs. Ruocco will supply the above mentioned information at your request, again provided the information is available of course. All you need to do is to provide her with as many details as you already have available, most importantly the chassis or VIN number. See the "How to identify your car" page for that.
It suffices to send Mrs. Ruocco a fax at +39 02 931 57 46 with the above mentioned data and where she can reply to and within a couple of weeks (depending on how busy the department is, remember, she is running this department alone!) you will get an answer nicely stating everything she had available.

In case you do not have access to a fax, please write her a letter at: |
